Regional communities often don't have the opportunity to see the same range of Australian films as larger metropolitan centres. The AFC's new REGIONAL DIGITAL SCREEN NETWORK (RDSN) will help change all that. This groundbreaking new network has equipped eight venues in regional Australia with a digital cinema system, enabling them to screen a wide variety of Australian films that have not screened outside major capital cities before. The AFC is also supporting a wealth of Australian programming for the network, from new Australian feature films to regular monthly screenings, mini-festivals and school screenings.
The participating venues in this stage of the AFC's RDSN are independent cinemas with a proven record of wanting to screen Australian programs and of working with the AFC on the Big Screen Touring Film Festival. They are:
Big Screen Cinemas, Hervey Bay (Qld) Forum 6 Cinemas, Wagga Wagga (NSW) Majestic Cinemas, Singleton (NSW) The Regent, Yarram (Vic) CMax Cinemas, Devonport (Tas) Orana Cinemas, Albany (WA) Katherine Cinemas 3, Katherine (NT) Cinema Augusta, Port Augusta (SA)
See the RDSN venues page for more information about each of the cinemas.
Check the RDSN program page for info about coming attractions on the RDSN.
